Research has established that organizations that have a higher level of project management capability, perform better in-terms of business performance than those that are less capable. For project management professionals, this finding should not be that surprising, but do we know what our organizations current project management capability level is and are we taking steps to enhance it?
In this session, we will focus on the concept of project management capability and discuss how we can determine our organizations current project management capability level and if needed, develop an improvement plan.

Tom Halliwell
Tom has over 35 years’ experience in the diagnostic (~10 years) and pharmaceutical industries (>25 years).
Tom has held a variety of project leadership/management positions throughout his career (from project leader to SVP level) and has been fortunate enough to work with and lead teams that have developed and launched a number of pharmaceutical, medical device and in-vitro diagnostic products. Tom has worked for a variety of organizations ranging in size from small start-ups to big pharma (Roche) and now works as a freelance project management consultant.
Tom regularly speaks at and chairs international Project, Programme and Portfolio management conferences and has been a member of the Pharmaceutical Industry Project Management Groups (PIPMG) Executive Committee since 1999 (including a three-year period as chair). Tom currently manages PIPMG Finances and is also a Board director of PIPMG Ltd.
