Effective project management and leadership go beyond simply delivering on time and within budget. Successful project delivery must also achieve optimum team dynamics, ideally improve productivity, satisfy the needs of the project’s stakeholders, and remain focussed and engaged on the long-term goal while mitigating risks. To maximise a project’s success, it is important to achieve an equilibrium amongst these often-opposing forces. One way to achieve this equilibrium is by applying the traits of competitive athletes.
